The Fastpitch School is excited to announce that we are offering a unique, once in a lifetime opportunity for student-athletes, their family members and individuals wishing to travel with us to China for a cultural life experience second to none.
Our staff will be traveling to China this summer with a group consisting of a team of 15 student-athletes, their family members, chaperones, and individuals joining us for the cultural experience, from July 31 to August 16, for two weeks of training, games and cultural experiences that are truly an outstanding opportunity afforded to few. To the best of our knowledge, an event of this expansive opportunity for non-Chinese citizens to enter China for the purpose of training and learning the discipline from Chinese professional and National Team coaches has never been offered before. Athlete team members will train and play games in Beijing against the Beijing Provincial Team,
as well as a Chinese University team from Beijing. There is also the possibility that team members will be able to play in Fengtai Stadium, home of the 2008 Olympic softball games. The fifteen student-athlete team members traveling with us will have the invaluable and priceless experience of being trained by professional Chinese and American coaches, as well as members of the Chinese National Softball Team (CNST) coaching staff at the Sichuan Province Training, a southern training center of the CNST, as well as stay at the athlete and CNST dormitory in Hongge Town, PanZhiHua as well as visit and experience The Great Wall, Forbidden City, and Summer Palace in Beijing, as well as sight-see in Chengdu and experience the unique cultural area of PanZhiHua, China.
Team participants will lodge together two to a room, along with TFS staff members and coaches, while family members and individuals traveling with our group will have hotel accommodations with double beds and up to 4 people per room. During the five day stay in PanZhiHua, family members and individuals will stay at the beautiful Holiday Inn Hongge Hot Spring and Resort, located in Hongge Town. It is our expectation, as part of this educational trip designed to teach appreciation of cultural diversity, as well as hone our athletes fastpitch softball skills, that all team participants and group
members will surrender to the Chinese culture and discipline, which includes food choices and meal selection. During our group’s six day stay in Beijing, there will be western food choices available; however, in Chengdu and PanZhihua, travelers should expect to find traditional Chinese meals- a true lesson in cultural understanding and appreciation. We are offering three tiers of travel options, which follow:
#1: Player Participants:
The total cost for team participants is $5000 USD per player. This includes:
- Round trip airfare from USA departure city to Beijing, China
- Air and ground transportation within China to hotels and training facilities
- Lodging
- 3 meals per day
- Training with professional Chinese and American coaches
- One week training with Chinese National Softball Team coaches, experiencing Chinese cultural discipline and training at the Sichuan Province Training Center in PanZhiHua
- 1 day in Chengdu, China
- 5 days in Hongge Town, PanZhiHua, China
- Visit the Great Wall of China, Forbidden City, and Summer Palace (group transportation provided from host hotel; entrance fees not included)
- Life changing cultural and personal developmental experiences gained from living within a country vastly different from your own, language immersion, and learning to understand, accept and appreciate cultural differences.
#2: Parent of Athlete, Family Member, Chaperone or Guest:
The total cost is $4000 USD per person. This includes:
- Round trip airfare from USA departure city to Beijing, China
- Air and ground transportation within China to hotels and training facilities
- Lodging- Hotel room with 2 double beds (up to 4 people per room)
- 3 meals per day
- 1 day in Chengdu, China
- 5 days in Hongge Town, PanZhiHua, China
- Visit the Great Wall of China, Forbidden City, and Summer Palace (group transportation provided from host hotel; entrance fees not included)
- Life changing cultural and personal developmental experiences gained from living within a country vastly different from your own, language immersion, and learning to understand, accept, and appreciate cultural differences.
#3: Chaperone, Guest or Additional Family Member:
The total cost for additional accompanying guests is $3500 USD per person. This includes :
- Round trip airfare from USA departure city to Beijing, China
- Air and ground transportation within China to hotels and training facilities
- Lodging *Individual room not included, however may room with pre- registered Tier #2 group member
- 3 meals per day
- 1 day in Chengdu, China
- 5 days in Hongge Town, PanZhiHua, China
- Visit the Great Wall of China, Forbidden City, and Summer Palace (group transportation provided from host hotel; entrance fees not included)
